White and metallic silver

for protable new applications

With metallic silver, you can create more than 500 metallic colours. The new generation

of metallic ink contains more reective pigments, giving you stronger, glossy colours.

The composition of the white ink has also been changed. The opacity is signicantly

higher, which improves the brightness of the text and images.

Very good quality at high printing speeds

The XR-640 is equipped with two in-line print heads. The colours are arranged in

mirrored order, which gives consistent quality during bi-directional printing.

The Roland Intelligent Pass Control technology improves the quality even more by

checking the placement, quantity and density of the ink drops even more precisely.

To sum up, the XR-640 delivers high quality, even at higher printing speeds. In ‘high

speed’ mode, the printing speeds can get up to 21.6 m²/hr for both vinyl and banner,

for example. In spite of those higher speeds, the print quality is sublime.

Roland VersaWorks

supports PANTONE

colour library

The XR-640 comes standard with Roland VersaWorks. This RIP and print-management

software now supports the use of the PANTONE

colour library. PANTONE spot colours

in a design are automatically converted to their CMYK values and then linked precisely

with a colour within the range of the Eco-Sol MAX2 ink set. Matching the right colour has

been simplied signicantly with this process. You can also replace spot colours with

colours of your choice from the Roland Colour System Library. That contains more than

1,000 standard colours and 512 metallic colours.

Optional DU-640 drying

The XR-640 has an integrated triple heating

system. You can install an additional drying

to speed up the drying process, however.

Roland DG recommends the DU-640 for use

with the take-up system in combination with

high production speeds or if you are using white

or metallic ink.

The colours are arranged in mirrored order, so that the ink is applied in the same sequence in

both directions. That gives an accurate reproduction of colours in all printing modes.

The XR-640 combines two functionalities. The unit prints the jobs and then cuts them

automatically. It makes it possible for you to make all kinds of stickers, labels, heat

transfers for textile, etc., quickly and eciently. In addition, you only need one unit,

impeccable print quality. The print heads re drops in seven dierent

sizes, which optimizes the image quality for the material and the

resolution that you select. In combination with the new ink, the print

heads ensure that the smallest details are printed precisely.

Eco-Sol MAX2 for intense colours

Eco-Sol MAX2 is the latest generation of Roland DG’s award-winning eco-solvent ink.

The ink scores very high in all important areas: outdoor durability, scratch resistance,

chemical resistance, and colour range. In addition, the ink is compatible with

the most extensive range of print media in the market. With its new composition,

the ink creates even sharper images. The Eco-Sol MAX2 is also nickel-free.

Light black makes the difference

Eco-Sol MAX2 is available in a new ink colour: light black. This colour delivers smooth

grey scale gradations. It also improves the stability of skin tones and other natural

tints. That brings all of the details expressively out in all of your posters, backlit

displays, automobile stickers, etc.
