Stunning piano sound

The RG-7 provides two superb grand piano tones. One is

Roland’s all-new 88-note world-class concert grand sound

with individual multisamples for every key, and the other is

the revered Roland piano sound which has brought such joy

and fun to players everywhere. Both are touch-responsive to

the subtlest pressure and nuance — from the deepest bass to

the most delicate high notes.

Electric piano, harpsichord and

other instrument tones

The RG-7 also includes 18 other fabulous instrument tones

— such as electric piano and harpsichord — carefully selected

from Roland’s very best sound resources. Plus, it has 600

internal tones for playback of GM2 and GS music data.

Newly designed speaker system

We have radically re-thought and completely redesigned the

speaker system to make the sound utterly “natural,” both

from the position of the player and that of the audience.

The RG-7, you will find, delivers breathtakingly realistic

acoustic grand piano sound. And should you need to play

with even more presence and dimension, you can connect

external speakers. The piano

ment comes from the external

Authentic acoustic grand piano touch

For the most authentic acoustic grand piano touch imaginable,

the RG-7 incorporates Roland’s highly acclaimed Progressive

Hammer Action Keyboard with Escapement. This keyboard

delivers the same natural responsive touch as a grand piano,

with a heavier touch in the lower range and lighter touch in

the upper, and with lighter resistance on

pianissimo passages

and stronger resistance on fortissimo. It even faithfully

reproduces the escapement “click-feel” of a grand piano.

Magnificent grand piano cabinet

The elegant form of the RG-7, which is very close to the size

of an actual acoustic grand, will draw every eye in the room.

Its exquisitely crafted grand piano cabinet with beautiful

polished ebony finish makes it the natural centerpiece of any

space in which it’s placed. The large lid can be opened or

closed just like on an acoustic grand, helping to create,

together with the music rest, a true grand piano presence.

Simple, elegant panel with locking lid

With a minimal number of buttons, the smart, modern control

panel is the ultimate in simplicity and functionality; the

locking panel lid can be slid down to hide the control panel,

making the RG-7 look even more like an actual acoustic grand.

Automatic keyboard movement

The RG-7 incorporates an advanced automatic keyboard

movement function that’s ideal for parties and gatherings.

Simply select an SMF or other music file for playback and

watch the automatic keyboard as it “plays” the music. Or

choose one of the onboard jazz standards or classical master-

pieces and watch the keys play the song. Everyone is captivated

by a player piano in action. Lounge or living room, hotel or

hall, the RG-7 will be the center of attention.

Built-in CD drive and USB memory port

The built-in CD drive is an exciting musical playback system that

adds atmosphere to any environment. It lets you play commercial-

ly available CD libraries for player pianos, standard audio CDs,

and CD-Rs with SMF data saved on them. In addition, the RG-7

houses a USB port, so you can input music data or contents not

only with a CD but also with a USB flash memory device.

Handy remote control and external display

Control the mood and ambience of the room with

the remote control. You can start or stop the music,

choose songs, and adjust the volume from a dis-

tance. By connecting your own external display

you can easily scroll through, read, and select from

the large onscreen menus and icons. You can also

instantly and effortlessly change songs, even from

across the room.

Locking lid protects control panel

Adopted especially for use in hotels and restaurants, the

RG-7’s locking panel lid can be slid down to hide the

control panel, protecting it from spills and bumps, and

preventing guests from touching the controls during

playback. And with the locking panel lid down, the

instrument looks even more like an acoustic grand.

Slideshow display can inform and

attract customers

Using the RG-7’s built-in USB port, you can import your

very own slideshow and display it on an external screen.

Show your menu, or a list of scheduled events, or a preview

of coming attractions — or any-

thing that you want to broadcast

visually to your customers. This

feature can be a sub-

tle but very powerful

and effective advertis-

ing medium for you.

Inputs/Outputs for stage use and vocals

The RG-7 is ideally equipped for lively parties and gath-

erings. It has convenient XLR output jacks for use on

stage, as well as a microphone input with echo, voice

transformer, and vocal harmonist functions to enjoy

karaoke and other entertainment.

Lighter weight, and never needs tuning

The RG-7 is lighter than an acoustic grand piano of its

size, and also lighter than an acoustic player piano, so it

can be moved more easily. And because it’s completely

digital and has no strings, it requires very little mainte-

nance. It never needs tuning!
